Samuel G. DeNoyer
Samuel G. DeNoyer, 92 years old, of Fremont, Nebraska, died Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Nye Legacy in Fremont.
Samuel was born August 30, 1933, in Haigler, Nebraska, to Leonard and Eva (Milner) DeNoyer. He moved to a farm south of North Loup, Nebraska, at the age of 3 and attended country schools in Valley County. He was a 1951 graduate of North Loup High School and lettered in football and basketball.
Samuel served in the U.S.Navy for four years and then in the reserves for four years.
Samuel married Shirley Peterson on November 10, 1956, at First Lutheran Church. Shirley died on Sept. 1, 2014. He was employed at the former Campbell’s Soup Co. for 35 years.
After Campbell’s closed in 1991, he was employed for 7 ½ years at American Meat Protein as supervisor in the accounting department. He retired in 1998.
He enjoyed bowling, playing horseshoes, dancing, golf and fishing on the Platte River. Samuel was president and secretary of his bowling league and was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame in 2002.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles since 1960 and was Aerie Auditor for 27 years. He was also a member of St. James Episcopal Church, and he coached Little League baseball for seven years. Most of all Shirley and Samuel were very proud of their three children.
He is survived by his son, Greg DeNoyer of Omaha; daughters, Teresa DeNoyer of Fremont and Darla (Rick) Wulf of Arlington, Nebraska; and sister, Sharon Freeman of Denver, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and five sisters.
Samuel’s funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21st, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont at a later date. Military honors will be conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of V.F.W. Post 854 and American Legion Post 20.
Memorials may be given to the Fraternal Order of Eagles #200 of Fremont.
