The following were here Sunday to attend the funeral of Mrs. L. E. Petersen: Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Deigarrd and son, Emory, Mrs. Julius Diegaard of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Wilson of Fremont, Mrs. R. Leslie of Council Bluff, Mr. and Mrs. S. Leslie and Mrs. Ellard Leslie of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Reynolds of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. B. Dulaney of Maskell, Nebr., Mrs. Arthur McManigal of Walthill, and Mr. and Mrs. George Stanley of Herman.

Mrs. L. E. Petersen died last Thursday after an illness of over two years’ duration of cancer, from which she has been a very patient sufferer.

The funeral was held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the family residence State Street, Rev. Arthur D. Smalley officiating. There was a large gathering of relatives and friends and the floral offerings were unusually large and beautiful.

Louise J. Wilds was born in Scioto County, Ohio, February 8th, 1858, so was 65 years of age at the time of her death. She came to this county with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Milton Wilds, 1865, when but seven years of age and this has been her home over 58 years. She was united in marriage to Stephen Brown in 1874, and to this union six children were born, two of whom died in infancy. One son, died in the Philippines during the Spanish American War.

After the death of Mr. Brown she married March 12th, 1892, to L. E. Petersen at Council Bluffs, Ia., who survives her, also two daughters, Mrs. Glen Cole, of this city, who has been constantly by her mother's bedside since she took sick and Mrs. George Lantry of Iowa and one son, Frank Brown of this city. She leaves two sisters, Mrs. John Dulaney of this city and Mrs. S. Leslie of Council Bluffs, Ia., and three brothers, Ed and Jas. M. Wild, of this city and Elmer Wild of Fremont. There are eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The bereaved family has the sincere sympathy of many friends.

Mrs. Louisa Petersen, wife of L. E. Petersen died at her home in Blair, Thursday, Nov. 22, 1923. Deceased was born in Scioto County, Ohio, Feb. 8, 1858, and was twice married. She was the mother of six children, three of who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Petersen had been ill many months and was a great sufferer. Surviving are her husband and two sisters, Mrs. John Dulaney of Blair and Mrs. S. Leslie of Council Bluffs; three brothers, Ed and James Wilds of Blair and Elmer Wilds of Fremont; Two daughters, Mrs. Glen Cole and Mrs. George Lantry of this place and one son, Frank; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren to mourn her demise. Funeral service was held on Sunday, Rev. Smalley of the Baptist Church officiating.

Mrs. L. E. Peterson passed away Thursday, November 22, after a long and serious illness at her home in this city.

Louisa J. Wilds was born in Scioto county, Ohio February 8, 1858. She was married to Stephen Brown. To this union was born six children, two of whom died in infancy. One son, James, died in the Philippines during the Spanish American war. After the death of Mr. Brown, she was married March 12, 1892, to L. E. Peterson at Council Bluffs.

There survives to mourn her loss her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Glen Cole and Mrs. George Lantry of near Blair, one son Frank, two sisters, Mrs. S. Leslie of Council Bluffs and Mrs. John Delaney of Blair, three brothers, Elmer of Fremont, Ed and James of this city. Also eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren and many friends and neighbors.

Note: The Vig Files at the Danish American Archives has it recorded that the spelling of her last name is Petersen and that she is buried in the Blair Cemetery 32-9-11.
