Tracing out this family has been very difficult. On Ancestry.com, there is a Barbara Spaniel married to a George Ziegler, but he cannot be the correct George (he is listed as having been born in 1846, by which time Barbara would have been 30 years old).

However, what does fit is that this Barbara was the mother of the George Ziegler born in 1959 (when she was 43 years old). That George married Margaret E. Rhea, and both are buried at the Arlington, Nebraska cemetery.

In the 1880 federal census, Barbara was living with her sons George and Jacob, keeping house. This implies that her husband George had already passed away by that time.
