Arlington—The funeral for Kenneth E. Jones, 65, of Arlington, Nebraska will be 10am Monday at Arlington Community Church, United Churches of Christ.
Jones died Thursday, February 3, 1994 at Memorial Community Hospital of Dodge County, Fremont, Nebraska.
He was born October 6, 1928 in Kennard, Nebraska. While growing up, he lived in several communities before his family settled in Arlington. He graduated from Arlington High school in 1946 and then drove a truck until entering the U.S. Army. Jones served in the Army from October 1950 until October 1952, serving in the Korean War.
Following the war, he returned to Arlington, and was employed by Scheer Transfer, Bell Creek and Hunt Transportation before going to work as a mechanic for Flynn and Larsen in Fremont, Nebraska. He retired last year.
Jones was a lifetime member of the Arlington Community Church, United Churches of Christ, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8332 of Arlington, a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, a member of the Elkhorn Valley Rifle Club and the 45th Infantry Division Association.
He married Mary E. Johnson February 14, 1954 in Fremont. She survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Peggy McDuffee of Fremont, Becky Bartley of Oakland, Nebraska and Robin Millie of Ponca, Nebraska; one son, Marlon Jones, US Naval Base, Port Hueneme, California, one sister, Mildred Connelly of Hayward, California, and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a granddaughter, two brothers and two sisters.
The Rev. Lee Milligan will officiate Monday’s service. Visitation will be 2-8pm Sunday at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the Arlington Community Church and the Arlington Rescue Squad.
