Mrs. Zylpha Bauman was born in Ontario, Canada August 7, 1854, and passed away in South Gate, California on April 16, 1945 at the age of 90 years, 8 months and 9 days.

In 1875 she was married to David Bauma at Waterloo, Iowa, where they lived several years before coming to Omaha to make their home. They settled in Fort Calhoun in 1893, where Mr. Bauman passed away three years later. To their union two sons and two daughters were born, all now living in California: Mrs. Olivia Harrison, Mrs. Leota Sorensen and Clayton Bauman in San Diego, and Arty Bauman in South Gate. Also left are a sister, Mrs. Ira Beekley, of San Diego, California, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, besides the many friends who were privileged to enjoy her fine neighborliness throughout the years.

The funeral services were held at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Jackson, and interment made in the Fort Calhoun cemetery.
