Shirley Ann Wild, age 87, of Fremont, NE, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026 at Nye Legacy.

Shirley was born on April 23, 1938, at Blair Hospital in Blair, NE, to Harold E. Rasmussen and Anna H. Rasmussen (née Kuhr). She spent her life in Nebraska and was a lifelong resident of Blair before later residing in Fremont.

She graduated from high school in 1955 and devoted her life to her family as a homemaker. On August 17, 1957, she was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Fred R. Wild, in Blair at the First Lutheran Church. They shared 68 years of marriage.

Shirley was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Blair. She was a faithful Christian who loved the Lord with her whole heart. She was deeply devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren, and was known for her warm smile and gentle spirit.

She is survived by her husband, Fred of Fremont; her daughters, Nancy (Michael) Taylor of Fremont, and Cheryl (Murtaza Kamal) Chambers Kamal of Langhorne, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Joshua ( Mattie) Taylor of Scribner, NE, Andra (Jayme) Sell of Fremont, Nathan Taylor of Fremont, Brian (Lauren) Chambers of Perkasie, PA, Natalie (Jake) Krempel of Navarre, FL, Aaron Chambers of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Rachel Chambers (Jackie Manfree) of Lawrenceville, NJ; and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Anna Rasmussen.

Funeral service will be 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will be Monday from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Moser’s in Fremont. Burial will take place at the Blair Cemetery in Blair, NE.

Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church in Fremont and Blair.
