Tye Oliver Finney, age 77, of Blair, Nebraska, passed away, on Monday, January 3, 2026 in Omaha, Nebraska.

He was born on August 17, 1948 to Clark Edward Finney and Jane Eugene (Rebel) Finney in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Tye was raised and educated in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, where he formed lifelong friendships and cherished memories. He graduated from Plattsmouth High School with the Class of 1966. Following high school, Tye continued his education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. Tye built his first and only home in Lakeland Estates, Blair, NE where he raised his three daughters with his wife, Margaret Finney. He took great pride in his longtime membership with Plattsmouth Masonic Lodge #6 A.F. & A.M. He loved walking daily at the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo and singing karaoke at Jack's Place in Elkhorn, Nebraska and Moe and Curly's in Omaha, Nebraska. His best songs were Bad Romance and Cake By The Ocean. A committed member of Victory Church, he faithfully served by playing guitar on the praise team for many years.

Tye leaves his three daughters: Dua Anderson and her husband Aaron of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Bailey Finney of Omaha, and Josie Ehlers and her husband Benjamin of Omaha; eleven grandchildren: Justin, Elise, Penelope, Howard, Harrison, Madelyn, Thundais, Perry, Margo, Lytherias, and Maggie; his brother: Todd Finney and his wife Doris of Sarasota, Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Clark and Jane Finney and his wife: Margaret Finney.

A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.

The memorial donations can be made to the Family (a suitable charity will be chosen at a later date). Services are entrusted to Roby Funeral Home, 346 Avenue A, Plattsmouth, Nebraska.
