Larry T. Bock, age 84, passed away January 8, 2026 in Omaha, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 14, at 10:00AM at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Graveside services will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 13, beginning at 5:00PM at St. Francis Borgia, a Vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM.

Larry was born on July 3, 1941, the son of Lawrence John and Agnes Helen (Navin) Bock. He attended Kuemper High School in Carroll, Iowa and then a graduate of University of Northern Iowa. Larry later earned graduate degrees from Drake University and the University of Nebraska of Omaha. He spent 10 years in West Des Moines at Valley High School, as a teacher, coach and administrator. Larry also spent 25 years with Blair Community Schools as an administrator.

After his retirement from education, he continued to stay involved in the public school systems working for NASB as a Safety Coordinator. His commitment to education has left a lasting imprint on countless lives. Larry had a passion for baseball and his love for the game extended to his work as a professional baseball scout with the Detroit Tigers and later with the Atlanta Braves.

On June 6, 1964, he was united in marriage to Maureen Lynch in Carroll, Iowa. The couple were blessed with two children; Brett and Shannon.

Larry is survived by his wife Maureen of Elkhorn, son Brett and Michelle Bock of Elkhorn, daughter Shannon and Marvin Coleman of Omaha, grandchildren; Brayden Bock, Zachary Coleman and Michael Coleman, brother Mike (Ann) Bock of Waverly, IA, sister Helen Garnett of Omaha, along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Bock and sister Patricia Miller. Larry was known for his kindness, his unwavering dedication to his family and friends, and his generous spirit. Larry's life was a testament to the power of love, education, and community. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by all those who loved him. Memorials may be directed to Siena Francis House or The Blair Community Schools Foundation.
