In Council Bluffs, Iowa
Mrs. Lettie Bartlett, 77, resident of Council Bluffs for 40 years, was found dead in her room at the Creston hotel, 215 South Main Street, about noon Thursday by two Visiting Nurses, Hannah Scott and Ethel Padjen.
Death is attributed by Coroner Jack Tyler to a heart attack late Wednesday.
Born at Fontanelle, Nebraska, Mrs. Bartlett lived in Nebraska before coming to Council Bluffs. As a young woman, she taught school in Nebraska. In late years, she remained much in her room painting watercolors.
Survivors: Son, Frank B. of Long Beach, California; brother, Charles S. Francis of Broken Bow, Nebraska; sister, Mrs. J.E. Gwinn of Garfield, Washington, and one grandchild.
Funeral was to be today at the Tyler Winslow mortuary with burial at Fort Calhoun, Nebraska
