July 9, 1944 ~ March 25, 2026

Sheran Louise Hibbs,81, of Blair, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Even with her Alzheimer's disease, Mom remained the same throughout by showing love, compassion, and always smiling at everyone.

Sheran was born July 9, 1944, to Fred and Lois (Collins) Gutschow in Blair. She was raised on a farm outside of Blair, attended Bono School and graduated from Blair High School in 1962. She loved to brag that she was faster than all of the boys and always chuckled whenever we mentioned that we got our speed from her. One of her special skills was shorthand, which helped her succeed within her career.

She was united in marriage to Larry Eugene Hibbs March 5, 1966 and together they built a family grounded in love and faith. They were blessed with two daughters, Kristen and Kandi, who along with her grandkids and great-grandkids remained the center of Sheran's life.

Sheran was a lifelong member of the United Methodist and Reach Church. Throughout her working years, Sheran was known for her strong work ethic and warm, friendly spirit. She was employed at Coca-Cola, International Harvester, later owned and operated The Sun Room, and completed her career at Washington County Bank. She influenced many throughout her career and never failed to show her love towards others. She met a lot of special people during her time and made some long-lasting friends. It was ironic that her favorite drink was Coca-Cola, which stayed her favorite until the very end.

After retiring from the bank, Sheran became a fulltime stay-at-home Grandma. This was the perfect retirement job for a woman that loves nothing more than her kids and grandkids. She spent her time gardening, making arts & crafts, traveling, and spending time with her family. From traveling to Minnesota to view the beautiful sunsets on Lake Melissa to never missing a sporting event for her grandchildren, she always made her family feel loved and supported. She was very welcoming to everyone and always cooked big Sunday dinners so we could all catch up and continue to be in each other's lives.

One of Sheran's true gifts was having a green thumb. She had the most magnificent and full garden and loved going out and attending it everyday. Her garden was once featured in the newspaper for being the garden of the week. Our Gigi was deeply rooted in faith and love for her family and she never failed to show it.

She also shared her life and home with her partner, Bill Rogge, whose companionship and care meant so much to her. She also held a special place in her heart for Bill's family. Sheran leaves her daughters, Kristen (Layne) Beemer and Kandi (Craig) Heuton; her partner, Bill Rogge; her grandchildren, Kaitlynd (Jake) Tierney, Kennedy (Caleb) Laurence, Reese Beemer, Hannah Heuton, Henry Heuton, and Hattie Heuton; her great-grandchildren, Tucker and Taytum Tierney; sisters Peggy Lantry and Lynn (Fred) Stirek; and Bill's daughter, Brandy (Ed) Christen, and their children, Conner and Chelsea.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Hibbs; her parents, Fred and Lois Gutschow; and her sister, Luella Jenkins.

Sheran will be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering faith, and deep devotion to her family. Her legacy of love, hospitality, and togetherness will live on through all who were blessed to know her. Her visitation will be Monday, March 30th from 5:30 – 8 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. There will be a short prayer service at 8 p.m. Her Funeral will be on Tuesday, March 31st at 10:30 a.m. at Reach Church in Blair. Burial at Blair Cemetery, luncheon to follow at the church.
