Dr. Susan Menking, a native of Blair, and her husband, George, have five children; ten grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. Susan was devoted to education throughout her life. At age eighteen she taught primary grades in a one room school house. She taught at all levels of education including teaching for the University of Nebraska and Pace University. In 1967, Susan received a MS degree in Educational Research and Statistics. In 1980, Susan completed her course work for her PhD in Psychology. After graduation, she worked primarily as a School Psychologist, either as a supervising psychologist or as the principal psychologist.

Susan possesses the Scottish Noble Title of Lady Garioch. She passed away on March 31, 2026, at age 91, at home in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
