Pamela Kaye Ciulla was born in South Dakota to a Christian family and graduated from Newell High School in 1967. She met her future husband, Sal Ciulla soon after. He was from Massachusetts and stationed at Ellsworth Air Force base in South Dakota. After attending one semester at Black Hills State College, she married Sal and became a military spouse. They had three children and 57 amazing years together. They lived in many U.S. states and England during Sal's career. When Sal retired in Nebraska, she started as the Religious Coordinator for Bethphage which served disabled individuals. It was an excellent way to recognize that all God's people can witness to God's love. Pam attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha and received her bachelor's degree, and then went on to attend Wartburg Theological Seminary, graduating in 2001 with a Master of Divinity. Although she was the one to become a Lutheran Pastor, she considered her husband, Sal, as her partner in Christ as he supported her with all his heart and with a mutual commitment to her calling.
Her first call was at St. Johns in Marquette, Nebraska, from 2001-2008. She was then called to First Lutheran in Blair, Nebraska from 2008-2018. After retirement in 2018, she continued to serve as a supply pastor with longer times at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ralston, Nebraska; Bethany Lutheran in Omaha, Nebraska, and Emmaus in Kennard, Nebraska.
Pam will be remembered by family, friends and loved ones for her infectious laugh, her joyous heart, her faith and her love for her family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including her husband Salvatore "Sal" Ciulla; her children, Lori Ciulla-Abolafia, Jennifer Ciulla and Salvatore "Skip" Ciulla; her grandchildren, Jacob Ciulla (Elvia), Celia Abolafia and Kobe Abolafia; her mother Mildred Vasknetz; her siblings, Timothy Vasknetz, David Vasknetz (Sharon), Steven Vasknetz (Carletta), Terry Vasknetz (Rose) and Debbie Abbott; and her brother-in-law Mel Ciulla (Jocelyn).
Preceded in death by her father Herbert Vasknetz; her sister Linda Vasknetz; her sisters-in-law, Judy (Ciulla) Tello and Maria (Soares) Ciulla.
