Ken was born December 12, 1934, in Omaha, to Harvey and Ruth (Lintner) Miller. Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 57 years, Dee Miller; daughter Kelly McCarl; grandsons Benjamin and Douglas Miller; sisters Rhoda Nantkes, Sharon Miller, and Beverly Shaw; brother James Stevens.

Ken is survived by his children; Patricia (Jack) Bell, Michael (Lisa) Miller and Tina (Tony) Updegrove; his sister, Inez Elsasser and brother Lee (Jackie) Miller. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jennifer, Elizabeth, Jeffry, Randy, Niki, Ryan, Cory, Kirstin, and Jesse. He has 16 great-grandchildren.

Ken retired from the Omaha Police Department in 1983 after 23 years of service. He also owned and managed several apartment buildings in Downtown Omaha.

Ken was committed to family, friends and people needing a hand-up. He was a celebrator of life, creating adventures for many. He had a very strong work ethic.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorials to Children's Nebraska Hospital
