Hildegard was born in Germany on January 12, 1930 to Edith and Friedrich Strott. She then moved to the United States, where she met and married Harry W. Arndt. They ran a hardware store in Blair, Nebraska, and had two children, Steven and Linda Arndt. After many years, she then moved to Newnan, Georgia, to live with her son Steven and family.

Surrounded by her 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, she loved watching Jeopardy, tending to her flower garden, and feeding the birds and squirrels.

Mrs. Arndt passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026 in Newnan, Georgia.

Mrs. Arndt was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister. She has 3 living sisters, Lisa, Eva, and Erika, still living in Germany.

She was an amazing woman and will be greatly missed in our lives. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Blair, Nebraska. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, Georgia, in service to the family.
