Mrs. Stricklett Succumbs, 84, Long Time Blairite

Mrs. Stricklett Headed 93 Member Family

Mrs. Elsie Stricklett, 84, a Blairite most of her life, died Sunday evening at the Lutheran Home in Fremont. She was head of the generation family numbering 93 members. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. yesterday at the Assembly of God Church here. The Rev. LeRoy Hamburger officiated.

Pallbearers were six grandchildren, Ernie, Guy, Harlan, Rolland, Erwin Stricklett, and Daryl Ladwig. Burial was in Blair Cemetery under the direction of Bendorf Funeral Home.

Elsie Lenora Allen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Allen, was born in Cherokee County, Iowa, September 29, 1867, but came to Blair as a child.

She and Louis William Stricklett were married in May 1883. To them were born eight children, five of whom precede their mother in death.

Surviving Mrs. Stricklett are three daughters, Mrs. Frank Bellows (Bessie) of Ralston, Mrs. Herman Ladwig (Kate), and Mrs. John Gilliam (Cora) of Blair, twenty-three grandchildren, fifty-seven great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, William Allen and Joel Allen both of Blair, and a sister, Grace Fulton of Oakland, California.
