John was born on February 4, 1957, in Omaha, Nebraska the son of Donald and Milly Jorgensen. Some of his happiest memories as a child, were family fishing trips to Minnesota.

On May 7, 1977, he was united in marriage to Jayne Van Ormer in Omaha, Nebraska. The family eventually settled in Elkhorn, Nebraska, where they made their home for 25 years. In 1995 John started J&J Grading and ran the business until his retirement in 2018. John was an avid racing fan and spent a lot of his time at local tracks, cheering on friends and family, he also enjoyed watching NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife Jayne Jorgensen; son Jason (Jamie) Jorgensen, daughter Jeanna (Brian) Mitchell, daughter Jill (Justin) Wulf; grandchildren: Kai, Ryne, Rayna, Jolene, James, Raygan; sisters: Christy (Jim) Norton, Karen and Peggy; along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, along with a brother Steve and sister Donna. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Services by Campbell Aman Funeral Home.

John Jorgensen, age 69, passed away June 12, 2026, at his home in rural Blair. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 3:00PM at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Visitation will be held prior to services beginning at 1:00PM at the funeral home.
