Services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 31, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home for Ernie Stricklett, 72, of Blair, who died at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair Jan. 28, 1997. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Ernie Charles Stricklett was born Jan. 15, 1925, at Blair, to Walter and Jessie (Bouvier) Stricklett. He attended school in Blair. On July 20, 1943, he entered the military and served in the U.S. Navy as a radioman until being discharged in May of 1946. He worked for Jensen Construction Company for 40 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Blair Foreign Wars Post.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Melbourne Stricklett, and a sister, Bledenna Stringer.

He is survived by his sister Bernice Halstead, Bend, Ore.; nephew, Mel Stricklett, Portland, Ore.; four nieces, Beverly Shane, Memphis, Tenn.; Connie Freestone, Council Bluffs, Iowa; Delores McNulty, Bend, Ore; and Karyn Parker, Cloverdale, Calif. Memorials may be directed to the Blair Rescue Squad.
