Charles K. Tyson, 82, of Loves Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully, Sunday morning, July 5, 2026. He was born September 15, 1943 in Monterey Park, CA, the son of Kenneth and Annalea (McClain) Tyson. He was raised in Blair, Nebraska and went on to graduate from Herman High School in 1963 in Herman, Nebraska. Upon graduation, he served in the United States Navy.

Charles married Linda Chamberlain in December of 1963 and they went on to have two sons. He was employed by Rogers Drywall in Loves Park. Charles was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan. He enjoyed cheering on the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. Charles loved fishing, especially ice fishing. Over the last years of his life, he enjoyed socializing with friends at Neighbor's Bar and Grill, especially with the bartenders who always took care of him. He was a social member of the Loves Park VFW, Post 9756.

He is loved and missed by his sons, Kenneth (Kelly Witt) Tyson and Mark (Stephanie) Tyson; granddaughter, Tristan (Milton) Phillips; and great-grandchildren, Marleigh and Hendrix.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Jeanine and Barbara.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heartland Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of Charles. Per Charles' request, a celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Advantage Funeral Home, Rockford, Illinois.
