Manley Sheldon Warrick, fondly known to his friends as "Peanuts" and his family as "Shell", was born on September 17, 1936, to Jim and Elnora (Birman) Warrick. Sheldon attended and graduated from Blair High School in 1955. After his graduation, he worked several jobs in Blair. In 1956, he met Jenny Nielsen while working at Champlin Oil in Blair. The couple was married December 23, 1957 and was married for 69 years, welcoming two sons, Brad and Kevin.
Sheldon entered the United States Army, being stationed in New Mexico, Korea for two tours, Germany for two tours, Vietnam, and Turkey before returning to Virginia. After his 23 years of service he earned the rank of Sgt. Major. One of the highlights of Sheldon's career was serving on the Presidential Pay Commission and hand delivering the report to the White House for the President to review.
Sheldon will always be remembered for being a dedicated patriot, during his service time and until his death. While he was in the military, Sheldon studied in the evenings to earn his degree in accounting from the University of Maryland. After Sheldon's retirement from the military, he owned and operated 3B's Saw and Tool, Inc in Omaha, NE for 40 years. 3B's was a true family business; everyone in the family was involved. Sheldon will be remembered for being able to fix anything; if it was broken, he could fix it. Golf was one of Sheldon's favorite passions, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years.
