Edith was born on July 31st, 1939 and passed away on August 18th, 2026 at the age of 87

Edith Irene Satterfield, age 87 of Blair, passed away August 18, 2026, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 24, 2026, at 10:00AM at First United Methodist Church in Blair. Graveside services will follow in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday August 23, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00PM at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Edith was born on July 31, 1939, in rural Fort Calhoun, Nebraska. She grew up in rural Washington County, and attended country grade schools. She then attended and graduated from Blair High School and also attended the Felt Terrant Business Machine School all at the age of 16. She then worked as a teaching assistant at Felt Terrant until she became a bookkeeper.

On November 24, 1959, she was united in marriage to Raymond Satterfield in Blair, Nebraska. Over the years the family primarily made their home in Blair, Nebraska. During Edith's professional career she primarily worked in customer service, working at US Bank and Great Plains Communications.

Edith was always active and contributed to her community. She was very active at First United Methodist Church, enjoyed volunteering at the Washington County Recycling Center, playing bridge, attending all of her family members' games and events and was a constant advocate for those in the community with disabilities.

She leaves her children: Beth (Larry) Ratfield, James "Jim" (MaryLou) Satterfield, Janis Satterfield and David Satterfield; grandchildren: Chris (Angie) Satterfield, Charlie (Nancy) Satterfield, Joshua (Stephanie) Ratfield, Mary (Mac) Miller, Bubba (Jessica) Ratfield, Alisha (Preston) Liekhus and Miranda (Justin) Larsen; 18 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, along with extended family and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Satterfield; great-granddaughter Jordyn Ratfield; parents Durward and Edith Sidebottom; brothers Charles Sidebottom and Durward 'Bud' (Margaret) Sidebottom; sisters: Donna Mae Sidebottom, Mary Ann (Dennis) Laaker, Ethel (Paul) Saathoff; niece Marica (Sidebottom) Law; nephew Michael Laaker along with many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church in Blair, The Nebraska Special Olympics, The Blair Grizzlies or The Blair Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
