Ronald R. "Ron" Coleman, Jr.

Ronald "Ron" Richard Coleman Jr. passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, at the age of 59, surrounded by his family.

Born in Omaha, NE and raised in Council Bluffs, IA, Ron grew up with motor oil in his veins. Alongside his dad, he built drag cars from the ground up and spent countless days on the strip. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1985 and from Iowa Western Community College in 1987, then put those same steady hands to work as a skilled tool and die maker at Vickers in Omaha. When the workday ended, you could find him playing guitar, tinkering in the garage, and cranking up rock and roll—exactly the way he liked it.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Coleman Sr., and his mother, Virginia Coleman (Fitch).

He is survived by the love of his life and partner of 21 years, Sarita White of Kennard, NE; his children, Jesse Coleman of Colorado, Trevor Coleman of Omaha, and Chelsea White (John) of Council Bluffs; his stepchildren, Felicia White of Kennard and Christopher White of Council Bluffs; and his grandchildren—Brandon, Zackary, Kealea, Rhea, Ellie, and Amelia—who brought him endless pride and joy. He is also remembered by a small, tight circle of family and friends who knew him as Rich or Richie.

Above all, Ron treasured the peaceful small town life he built with Sarita. He was fiercely proud of his two greatest titles: Dad and Grandpa. Known for his strong will and his stubborn insistence that everything stay right where it belonged, he was also the kind of man who would sit and truly listen when it mattered. He didn't need the spotlight—he just needed his people, his music, and a little space to tinker.

Honoring Ron's wishes, a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
