Lloyd Dwight Petersen, age 93 of Blair, entered the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 30, 2026, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 10:30 AM at First United Methodist Church in Blair. A time of fellowship will follow at the church. Military graveside services will be held at 2:00PM at the Rose Hill Cemetery in rural Orum.

Lloyd was born on August 31, 1932, in Walthill, Nebraska the son of Albert and Katie Petersen. Lloyd grew up in the surrounding areas and later graduated from Blair High School in 1951. After high school Lloyd joined the United States Army and served with the 231st Transport Battalion during the Korean War.

On May 18, 1955, he was united in marriage to Donna Lee Plugge. The couple were blessed with two children, Dwight in 1956, and Jacque in 1960. In 1961, Lloyd built his family home repurposing lumber from the Catholic Church. On May 22, 1965, he started Petersen Construction, following his passion of working with his hands. Lloyd was a long-time member of the Blair Fire Department and Rescue Squad serving his community for over 65 years.

Lloyd and Donna were very active members of multiple churches over the years, where they volunteered and gave graciously. Nothing was more important to Lloyd than his faith and family. He was happy to be known as the servant of a Jewish carpenter.

Lloyd is survived by his daughter Jacque (Scott) Anderson, daughter- in-law Bonnie Petersen, grandchildren; Todd (Jennifer) Petersen, Garrett (Kayla) Petersen, Greg Petersen, Jenna Lee Anderson, Taylor (Jillian) Anderson, great-grandchildren, HaiLee (Kyle), Daphne, Aida, Grant, Wesley and Amelia, sister Mary Alice Frahm, several nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Donna Lee Petersen, son Dwight Petersen, brother Harland Petersen, sisters; Lois Petersen, Elaine Plummer, Betty Larson and Ruth Vaca. Memorials may be directed to the Blair Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Blair Congregational Church or the Rose Hill Cemetery. Services by Campbell Aman Funeral Home, Blair, NE.
