Louis Stricklett died Tuesday, passed away in his home in this city after an illness of over a year. Funeral at two tomorrow.

W. Louis Stricklett passed at 2:15 at his home on east State Street yesterday noon, following an illness from a complication of disease that baffled the skills of several physicians. His condition became critical last Wednesday and he slowly failed until the end came.

The funeral will be held at the Christian Church, of which he was a member, at 2 o'clock tomorrow, Thursday. Reverend W. B. F. Rob officiating.

The deceased was born in Louisville, Kentucky, December 15th, 1857, so was almost seventy years of age. His funeral being held on his birthday. He was the son of Jas and Catherine Stricklett, the second of a family of twelve children. He came to Nebraska with his parents in 1866 before Blair was born, settling on a farm southwest of where Blair is now located. There, he grew to manhood and on May 4th, 1884, was united in marriage to Miss Elsie Allen, in this city. They settled on a farm in DeSoto Township where their family of eight children were born; all but Ethel, living to grow up; she died at the age eleven months.

About twelve years ago they moved to this city. Bessie, Mrs. Frank Bellows, lives at Walthill; Walter lives here; Lyle lives near Parkston, South Dakota; and Guy near Dimmock, South Dakota; Kate, Mrs. Herman Ladwig; Frank H.; and Cora, Mrs. John Gilliam all live in Blair. He leaves one sister, Cora Stricklett and two brothers, Ed and Orin, also of Blair. There are twenty-one grandchildren.

Mr. Stricklett was a quiet, home loving man, honest and industrious, the qualities that make for a good friendship and good citizenship. He will be gravely missed by his many friends who extend heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.

W. L. Stricklett passed away at his home in this city on Tuesday at 12:15 following a protracted illness of about a year.

Deceased was born in Ohio on December 15, 1857 and with his parents came to this county when ten years of age. He was married to Miss Elsie Allen in may of 1884 and have lived here since. To them eight children were born, seven of whom are still living.

The funeral services are to be held this afternoon at two o’clock at the Christian Church with Rev. Robb officiating and interment will be made in the Blair Cemetery.

Besides the wife he leaves two brothers, Orin and Ed and on sister, Cora and seven children, Walter, Lyle, Guy, and Frank, Mrs. Frank Bellows, Mrs. Herman Ladwig and Mrs. Pete Gilliam, to mourn his death. FindaGrave #52692374
