MARY SUTHERLAND, 96

Mary Sutherland, 96, of Blair, died Monday, January 14, 2002, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 17, at First Christian Church in Blair. The Revs. David Ludwick and Ken Jensen will officiate. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Mary Sutherland was born April 15, 1905, in Blair to Ed and Mabel Hovendick. She lived most of her life in Blair.

On February 18, 1929 she married Hugh Sutherland.

Mrs. Sutherland worked for a time at the Washington County Courthouse and in the Blair's Memorial Community Hospital, but spent most of her time devoted to her husband and six daughters. She was a member of the First Christian Church.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Vivienne Hatton of Kingman, Arizona, Phyllis and Jim Quick of Flemington, Missouri, Verna and Mel Kuhr of Blair, Marilyn and Jack Bassett of Fremont, Sidney and Herman Penke and Alice and Bob Ricker, all of Blair, 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, one grandson, one great-grandson, two sons-in-law, one sister and two brothers.

Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church Building Fund and Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.
