Willard W. Warrick, 88

Willard W. Warrick, 88, of Blair, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at Country Bible Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, May 20, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, and after 5:30 p.m. at the church, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Willard Wilson Warrick Sr. was born Aug. 28, 1916, in Blair to Neum and Blanche (Peck) Warrick. He graduated from Blair High School, then entered the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the African and European Campaign from 1941 to 1945.

On Jan. 6, 1946, he was married to Opal Mencke in Kansas. They farmed in the Blair area from 1946 to 1965, when they moved into Blair.

Mr. Warrick worked for the State Highway Department and 10 years for the Blair Community Schools, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Blair VFW, past member of First Baptist Church, where he served as trustee and deacon, and was a current member of Country Bible Church.

He is survived by his wife, Opal; sons and daughters-in-law, Willard Jr., David and Lois, all of Blair; Phil "Rex" and Marlene of Plattsmouth; daughters and son-in-law, Vickie and Dennis Brummer of Blair; Jackie Warrick of El Paso, Texas; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Carol of Hoisington, Kansas, and Harland "Hap" Warrick of Blair.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Manly, Bryan, Abe, Norman, Abraham, and Mace; and sisters, Beulah Messer, Margaret Bisbee, Edith Stewart, Gertrude King, Opal McLees, and Gayle Browder.

Memorials are suggested to Country Bible Church.
