Opal Penke, 86, of LaVista, died Nov. 5, 2011. Funeral services were held Nov. 9, 2011, at the First Lutheran Church in Papillion. Interment was at the Cedar Dale Cemetery in Papillion.

Opal Wrich was born Aug. 9, 1925, in Kennard to George and Lillie (Schneider) Wrich.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Beth of Springfield, and Randy, and George and Patty, all of Papillion; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Marvin Wrich of Hawkins, Texas; sisters, Myra White of Sun City, Ariz., Lodena May of Fort Collins, Colo., and Linda Holiday of Kennard; and sister-in-law, Beverly Roh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George "Cal" Penke; daughter-in-law, Terri Penke; two brothers, Melvin and Merle; and sister-in-law, Donna Wrich.

Survived by sons, Roger (Beth) Penke, Springfield, Randy Penke, and George Jr. (Patty), Papillion; grandchildren, Roth Penke, Amber Briggs, Kelly Shaffer, Jason Penke, Luke Penke, Rachel Penke, Ray Penke, Mary Leland, and Regina Penke; great-grandchildren,Rylan Penke, Sloan Penke, Taylor Briggs, Chandler Briggs, JayLee Shaffer, and Kellon Shaffer; brother, Marvin Wrich; sisters, Myra White, Lodena May, and Linda Holiday; and sister-in-law, Beverly Roh.

Visitation Tuesday 3-7pm at the Funeral Home. Funeral Wednesday 10:30am, First Lutheran Church, Papillion. Interment Cedar Dale Cemetery. Memorials requested to the Church.
