Leonard G. Sorensen, 71

Memorial services will be held later for Leonard G. Sorensen, 71, of York and formerly of Omaha, who died in York Thurs., Nov. 28, 1996. He had asked that his body be donated to the University Of Nebraska College Of Medicine for anatomical research and study.

Leonard G. Sorensen owned and operated Sorensen’s Dairy in Omaha for many years until retiring in 1996.

He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Tangier Shrine of Omaha and a life member of the Clown Patrol of the Tangier Shrine. He was very active in the Alcoholic’s Anonymous ‘500 Club’ at Council Bluffs, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Clarence Sorensen and a special friend, Bonnie Ash, of Omaha.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Craig L. and Julie A. Sorensen of York; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Ray Wright of Blair and three grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to The American Diabetes Association.

Lewis Funeral Chapels in York was in charge of arrangements.
