Hans Jensen, father of Mrs. Peter Jacobsen, died at his home in Omaha last Sunday at 5 o'clock a.m. Mr. Jensen's death was very unexpected, he having only been sick since Friday. He was past 71 years of age, and his wife preceded him by only ten months. Three daughters, Mrs. Jacobsen, of Kennard, and Anna and Jennie of Omaha, survive.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 3 o'clock from the Danish church at Orum with an old friend from Omaha officiating. Mr. Jensen was a pioneer of the Orum neighborhood and the family have numerous friends here in Washington County.

Hans Jensen, a former well-known resident of the Orum neighborhood died at his home in Omaha on Last Sunday. He gave up farming many years ago and went to work for the U. P. Railroad as locomotive engineer, which position he held for 28 years, until poor health compelled his retirement. His wife died less than a year ago and the body was buried in the Orum Cemetery, where his remains will also be buried next Thursday, November 1st.

The body of Hans Jensen, a former well known Washington County resident, was shipped from Omaha Friday and the funeral was held from the Orum Danish Lutheran Church and was in charge of an Omaha minister. Mr. Jensen lived south of Orum for many years, going from there to Omaha where he was a U.P. engineer until his retirement a short time ago on account of his age. His wife died one year ago and was buried at Orum. He leaves two daughters at home and another daughter, Mrs. Peter Jacobsen, lives near Kennard. A delegation of his old friends and neighbors from Lincoln Township met the body at the Blair depot and escorted his bereaved relatives to the Orum church. The body was laid to rest by the side of his wife in the church yard at Orum.
