Jean Jensen, 78, of Blair died Monday, Sept. 29, 1997 at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 at the United Church of Christ (Congregational). Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery.

Jean Margaret Jensen was born Sept. 20, 1919 in Howard County, Neb. to Ralph and Grace (Collins) Reynolds. She graduated from St. Paul High School and attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and Dana College. She taught in rural schools for 24 years. On Jan. 24, 1942, she married Robert E. Jensen. They farmed in the Herman area. She moved to Blair in 1986.

She was a member of the Herman American Legion Post No. 274 Auxiliary; Blair Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary; and was president of the Home Improvement Club.

Survivors are her sons, Richard E. Jensen, Thomas R. Jensen and James Jensen; four grandsons, David Jensen, Brian Jensen, Kevin Jensen and Daniel Jensen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert in March of 1982; and a brother, Duane Reynolds.
