JENS JENSEN, 81, BURIED YESTERDAY

BLAIRITE, FATHER OF FIVE, DIED SUNDAY; BURIAL IS AT LYONS

Jens Jensen, 81, of northeast of Blair, died Sunday at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. yesterday at the Bendorf Funeral Home, the Rev. Harold C. Jorgensen of First Lutheran church officiating. Interment followed in Lyons cemetery, with I.O.O.F. services conducted at the grave.

Mr. Jensen was born April 12, 1859, at Soro Sjolland, Denmark, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He was married to Ane Christine Madsen September 11, 1880, and to them were born eight children, two of whom, Jens and Frank, died in infancy, and another, Chris, who died at Lyons in 1936.

Mrs. Jensen died December 29, 1915. Mr. Jensen was married March 3, 1933, to Emma A. Bates.

Surviving are his wife, Emma; three sons, Hans C., Louis and Fred Jensen, all of Lyons; and two daughters, Mrs. John O. Nielsen of Omaha and Miss Sophia Jensen of Los Angeles.

JENS JENSEN RITES WED.

Jens Jensen of Weimerville, a suburb of Blair, passed away at the Methodist hospital in Omaha last Sunday, January 19th.

Deceased was born in Denmark April 12, 1859 and would thus have been 82 years of age at his coming birthday in April. He was married to Anne Christine Madsen September 11, 1880, and to them eight children were born. Mrs. Jensen passed away in 1915.

On March 3, 1933 he was married to Mrs. Emma A. Bates, who survive him: Hans C.; Lewis and Fred of Lyons; Mrs. John O. Neilsen of Omaha; and Miss Sophia Jensen of Los Angeles, California; and three stepchildren, Mrs. Ralph Longwell, Mrs. Hans Aye and Eugene Goultry of Blair.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Bendorf Funeral Home with Rev. Jorgensen of the First Lutheran church in charge, and interment was made in the Lyons cemetery.
