Local photographer for more than 30 years

Douglas D. Taylor, 69, of Blair, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Douglas Dean Taylor was born May 23, 1942, in Blair to Howard and Nellie (Spiker) Taylor. He was raised on a farm in Orum.

He graduated from Blair High School in 1960. In 1964, he joined the United States Army and served his country until 1966.

On New Year's Eve, 1966, he married Susan Nelson in Harlan, Iowa.

He will be remembered as being a local photographer for more than 30 years. His "Doug Hugs" will be missed by those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Taylor of Blair; son, Paul C. Taylor, currently living in China; brother, Howard L. Taylor; sister-in-law, Linda Taylor, Blair; nieces and nephews, David Taylor, Amy Mahoney, and Anne Hampton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Susan V. Taylor.
