| Services will be Thursday, July 27, at First Lutheran Church for Dennis C. Altekruse, 79 who died July 23, 1989 at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha. Rev. james McBride will officiate. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.
Dennis C. Altekruse was born September 5, 1909 at Garden Grove, Iowa to Lloyd and Rachael Altekruse. He graduated from Beaconfield High School at Beaconfield, Iowa.
He served in the Pacific during World War II as a medical technician. He was a meat cutter for Duffey's Market for over 25 years.
He married Mildred Hansen on October 15, 1950. She preceded him in death.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Howard and a sister, Pauline.
He is survived by brothers-in-law and their wives, Roy and Elva Hansen of Blair; Edward and Patricia Hansen of Bellevue, Washington; and a brother-in-law, Milton Hansen of Omaha. Cousins, nieces and nephews also survive him.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hansen, Larry Hansen, David Rogert, Clifford Hansen, Etlar Olsen and Edward Hansen, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Duffey, Kelly Ryan, Emmett Rogert, Haldon Altekruse, Howard Altekruse and Harald Schjodt.
