MAUDE E. JENSEN, 94

Memorial Services were Monday, November 15 at Blair First United Methodist Church for Maude E. Jensen, 94 who died at the Memorial Community Hospital in Blair November 12.

Maude Elizabeth Jensen was born at Harbine, Nebraska, August 18, 1899 to J.G. and Florentine Derr Wiese. She attended elementary school in Harbine and Meadow Grove, Nebraska, graduating from Meadow Grove High School in 1918. She received her college education at Wayne State College, Medland Lutheran College and Dana College, graduating from Dana in 1962.

She started her teaching career at Battle Creek where one of her duties was coaching girls' basketball. After teaching a few years in Madison County, she taught in Craig and then rural Burt County Schools, coming to Blair 50 years ago in 1943, in the middle of World War II. She taught in elementary school in Blair for 25 years and also worked 12 summers at the Blair Swimming Pool.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 50 years, Order of the Eastern Star, United Methodist Women, Monday Afternoon Club and taught Sunday School and haD involvement with the youth groups in the church.

She was preceded by her parents, J.G. and Florentine Wiese; four brothers, Harold, Gilbert, Keith and Paul; and one sister, Mabel Wieting.

Surviving her are her daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Richard Rupert, Boulder, Colorado; son, M. Stanley Jensen, Blair, Nebraska and son and daughter-in-law, John and Dorothy Jensen, St. Cloud, Florida; grandchildren, Greg Rupert, Texas; Julie Schiola, Colorado; Jeffrey Jensen, Florida; Lori Tanner, New Jersey and Robert Jensen, Florida; great-grandchildren: Sean Rupert, Texas; Elizabeth Schiola and Emily Schiola of Colorado; two brothers, Kenneth Wiese, Wheat Ridge, Colorado; Roger Wiese, Eugene, Oregon; two sisters, Norma Manson, Lemon Grove, California; Ruth Mallette, Troy, Montana; brother-in-law, John T. Jensen, Blair and many nieces and nephews and lovinbg friends and neighbors.

Memortials may be designated to Blair First United Methodist Church, Memorial Community Hospital, Arthritis Foundation, or favorite charity.

Cambpbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
