Doris M. Lauritsen, 78

Doris M. Lauritsen, 78, of Arlington, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at Nye Legacy Nursing Home in Fremont.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 Friday, Dec. 9, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. Interment will be at St. Paul's Cemetery in Arlington.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at Dugan Funeral Chapel in Fremont, with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m.

Doris Mae Lottman was born April 15, 1933, in Arlington to Carl and Frieda (Scheer) Lottman.

She was raised in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School in 1951. She met Leonard Lauritsen in Kennard; they were married on June 21, 1952.

Mrs. Lauritsen was a member of the St. Paul's Women's Missionary League, Home Harmony Club, and Coffee Klatch. She especially loved spending time with her family. She loved gardening, flowers and quilting and had created a quilt for each grandchild. She worked closely with Leonard on the farm in addition to raising their family.

She is survived by husband, Leonard Lauritsen; son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Connie Lauritsen of Arlington; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Patrick Dahlhauser of Fremont,Susan and Rick Paulsen of Blair, and Michelle and Doug Reed of Arlington; grandchildren, Lindsay and Craig Hegemann, Luke and Joy Lauritsen, Lesley Lauritsen, Kelley Dahlhauser, Allison and Mallory Paulsen, Jackson and Noah Reed; great-grandchildren, Libby, Haydn and Eli Hegemann, and Brock Lauritsen.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Lottman, and a son, Stanley Carl Lauritsen.

Memorials have been established to St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Arlington Education Fund.
