James D. Schaller, 67

James D. Schaller, 67, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at his home in Yutan.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec.10, at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont.

There is no viewing, however, friends may sign the register book on Friday from 3 to 8 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

James D. Schaller was born Nov. 25, 1944, at Ainsworth to Cecil and Georgia (King) Schaller.

He grew up at Long Pine and was a graduate of Bloomfield High School. He also lived in the Wausa, Bloomfield, Fontanelle and Arlington areas. He moved to Yutan in 1992. He was employed at Valmont Industries at Valley as security director until retiring in 2011.

He was a member of the Arlington Volunteer Fire Department and former city councilman at Yutan. He was an Emergency Medical Technician, holding that license the second-longest in Nebraska.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammie Harden of Hagerstown, Md.; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott Schaller of Fremont, Bucky and Amanda Timm of Arlington, Dusty and Charissa Timm of Des Moines, Iowa, and Corey Timm of Omaha; significant other, Janet Timm of Yutan; brothers and sister-in-law, Dean Schaller of Wausa, Bill "Will" and Vel Schaller of Norfolk and Don Schaller of Council Bluffs, Iowa; sisters, Carol Jones of Ainsworth and Georgia McKibbon of Norfolk; eight grandchildren and one great- grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Vickie Schaller.

Memorials are suggested to the Arlington Volunteer Fire Department or to The United Way.
