Former County Clerk Altekruse Dies in Omaha Services for Mildred "Millie" Altekruse will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Millie passed away at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha on Monday July 25, 1988.

She was born on May 12, 1913 at Daneville, North Dakota to Louis and Marie Tolstrup Hansen. She moved to Blair in 1915. She attended school in Nelson, Nebraska and Cruickshank school in rural Blair. She graduated from Blair High School and then attended Dana College.

During WWII she worked for the munition plant at Mead Nebraska. In 1946 she became Clerk of County Court and remained in that position until retiring in May of 1978.

On October 15, 1950 Millie was united in marriage to Dennis Altekruse at Blair, Nebraska.

She was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church, member of VFW Auxiliary; Blair Hospital "Sunshine Girls;" Lutheran Daughters, ELC Church Women and Love Days Group. She taught sunday school for many years and was active with church circles. She was always ready to help with church projects wherever she was needed.

The church and the Lord were a big part of Millie's life. She touched many lives with her friendly smile and helpful ways.

Millie is survived by her beloved husband Dennis; 3 brothers Roy of Blair, Nebraska; Milton of Omaha and Edward of Bellevue, Washington; She was also beloved Mother to Judy, Pam and Edward her 2 nieces and nephews who she helped raise when their mother passed away.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother Lyle who was killed in WWII.

Graveside services will be held in tghe Blair Cemetery following the church service with Rev. James McBride officiating.
