DEATH TAKES MR. JACKSON

NEW ENGLAND FARMER, 59, DIES OF BLOOD DISEASE; RITES HELD TUESDAY

Ill several months with a rare blood malady, Henry Jackson, 59, well-known farmer in the New England community west of Herman, died Saturday. Only a few weeks ago neighbors and friends had banded together to husk and shell his corn after he had become bedfast.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Herman Tuesday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. A.W. Clarke of Arlington, formerly of herman, officiating. Interment was in Herman Cemetery.

Son of the late Nels and Julia Jackson, Mr. Jackson was born Nov. 1, 1886, on the same farm where he died last weekend. As a young man he and his older brother, Charles, spent several years farming in Canada before Charles enlisted in the Canadian army, whereupon Henry returned to Herman.

Mr. Jackson and Ruth Cameron, daughter of Hattie and the late C.W. Cameron, were married Nov. 4, 1925. Two children were born to them. With the widow, the two children survive him. They are Miss Marian Jackson, now teaching at Vacoma school west of Herman, and Cameron Jackson, a pupil at New England school.

Mr. Jackson was long a member of Landmark Lodge, A.F. & A.M., at Herman and for several years was a member of the New England school board.

Besides the immediate family, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Henry Denny of Eugene, Ore., and Mrs. Chris K. Bendorf of Blair; and four brothers, John of Tekamah, Tommy of Los Angeles, Gene of Omaha and George of Blair. Two brothers preceded him in death: Charles, killed in action in World War I and Robert, killed while working near Blair in 1933.

HENRY JACKSON RITES WERE HELD TUESDAY

Funeral rites for Henry Jackson were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Methodist Church in Herman, Rev. A. W. Clarke of Arlington officiating. Musical numbers were given by Mrs. Floyd Loftis, Mrs. Claude Yowell, Fred Robertson and Clare Johnson, with Mrs. G. F. Lowe at the piano. Burial was made in the Herman cemetery.

Henry Jackson, son of the late Nels and Julia Jackson, was born November 1, 1886, and passed away December 8, 1945 at the age of 59 years, 1 month and 7 days, on the same farm seven miles west of Herman where he was born. When a child he attended the New England School. As a young man he accompanied his older brother, Charles, to Canada where they engaged in farming for a number of years. During this time Charles enlisted in the Canadian army during World War I, and Henry returned to his home in Nebraska where he was associated with his brother in farming.

He was united in marriage to Ruth Cameron, daughter of Mrs. Hattie Cameron and the late C. W. Cameron on November 4, 1925. Two children were born to this union, Marian, now a teacher in the Vacoma School west of Herman, and Cameron, a pupil in the New England School.

Henry became a member of Landmark Lodge A.F.&A.M. at Herman at the age of twenty one, and was a member of the New England School Board for several years.

Deceased is survived by his wife, Ruth; his children, Marian and Cameron; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Denny of Eugene, Oregon, and Mrs. Chris Bendorf of Blair; also four brothers, John of Tekamah; Tommy of Los Angeles, California; Gene of Omaha; and George of Blair. Two brothers preceded him in death, Charles, a casualty in World War I and Robert who was accidentally killed while at work near Blair in 1933.

Henry was a kind friend and a good neighbor and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
