Donald D. Hansen, 72

Worked For Airlines In Chicago, Minneapolis

Donald D. Hansen, 72, of Arlington, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

There are no services, however, friends may sign the register book Tuesday, Jan. 3, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Interment will be at the Orum Cemetery in Orum.

Donald D. Hansen was born Jan. 8, 1939, in Plainview to Herman and Lois (Lambert) Hansen. He grew up northeast of Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School in 1957.

He served in the U.S. Army and then worked for several airlines in Chicago and Minneapolis. In the late 1970s, he moved back to Arlington. He worked as a chef in Blair and then at Woodcliff in Fremont for many years.

Mr. Hansen was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Orum and a member of the American Legion Post No. 71 at Arlington and AMVETS.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Peg Hansen, of Ames; sisters-in-law, Anna Hansen, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Linda Delaney, of Arlington; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Keith and Dale Hansen.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
