Dave A. Delaney, 56, of Blair, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Creighton University Hospital in Omaha.

A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at Blair VFW Post No. 1251.

Dave A. Delaney was born on Nov. 15, 1955, in Muskegon, Mich., to Ray and Pearl (Loske) Delaney.

He graduated from Blair High School in 1974. He worked for Thompson Masonry for a number of years. He was an avid fisherman and loved to cook. He loved socializing and spending time with his friends.

He was a member of the Blair VFW Men's Auxiliary and served as the chaplain.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa, of Blair; children, Abby Delaney of Norfolk, Dillon Delaney of Neligh, and Derek Delaney of Sioux Falls, S.D.; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lisa Delaney of Blair, and sister and brother-in-law, Deb and Don Howland, also of Blair.

Memorials may be directed to a fund established in his name at the Blair VFW Post No. 1251.
