Harold G. Guyer, 86, died Dec. 23, 2011, in Auburn, Ala.

Harold Glen Guyer was born Jan. 22, 1925, near Blair to H. Lyle and Viva (Lippincott) Guyer. Upon graduation from Blair High School in 1942, he moved to California where he attended UCLA. His college studies were interrupted by the service in the U.S. Army during World War II. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting from UCLA in 1950.

On Sept. 10, 1949, he married Jean Fisk of San Francisco, Calif.

He applied his accounting skills in various businesses that centered around his love of music and included work with musical instruments, especially pianos and organs. He sang tenor with various barbershop groups beginning when he was 18 and served as an Elder at the Presbyterian Church in both Lancaster and Oceanside, Calif.

He also assisted with Boy Scout troops, having been a Boy Scout himself.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean Guyer of Santa Barbara, Calif.; his children, Holly Bowman Green of Anacortes, Wash., Craig Guyer of Auburn, Ala., and Wendy Guyer of Goleta, Calif.; and his older sister, Lyla (Guyer) Woodworth of Hastings.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Lippincott Guyer and sister, Mildred Guyer.
