Delores M. Faulhaber, 81

Enjoyed Volunteering and Reading to Children

Former North Platte resident Delores M. Faulhaber, 81, died Jan. 5, 2012, in Blair.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, Jan. 10, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with interment at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.

Delores M. Medinger was born Jan. 16, 1930, in David City to Leo and Caroline (Zima) Medinger.

She graduated from Fullerton High School in 1948; and she went on to teach in a country school in the Fullerton area.

She married Donald Faulhaber in June of 1954 and the couple made their home in North Platte for 55 years.

Mrs. Faulhaber was employed by the North Platte Public School System in the food service area. She retired in 1997.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, VFW Auxiliary, and AARP Chapter #1688.

She enjoyed volunteering at the American Red Cross, RSVP, Lincoln County Museum and at the Washington County Recycling Center in Blair with her son. She enjoyed reading to the children at McDaid and Jefferson grade schools. Hobbies that she enjoyed were camping and gardening.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Donita and David Gertsch of Plattsmouth; two sons and daughters-in-law, Orlin and Nancy Faulhaber of North Platte, and Kevon and Marcie Faulhaber of Blair; grandchildren, Halley Faulhaber of North Platte, Andrew, Joshua, and Zachary Faulhaber all of Blair, Stephanie Gertsch of Omaha, and Ross Gertsch of Plattsmouth; sisters and brother-in-law, Donna and Donald Swanson of Eagle, and Carol Hahn of Lincoln; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Clayton and Cindy Medinger of Fullerton and Dean Medinger of Grand Island; brother-in-law, Dolan Swanson of Monroe; sister-in-law, Joyce Medinger of Central City; numerous other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; sister, Phyllis Swanson; brothers, Norman, Lewayne, and Gary Medinger; brother-in-law, Jack Hahn; and nephews, Robert Swanson and Jerry Medinger.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or to the North Platte Catholic School Endowment Fund.
