Mrs. Sophie Jensen passed away Thursday, March 28th at the age of 96 years. She was born in Denmark on February 15, 1878, and at the age of 9 came to the States with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jensen. They located at Wayne, Nebraska.

In January, 1896, she was married to Hans Toft. They were the parents of two children, Ansel Toft of Omaha and Mrs. Don Toft (LaFerne) of Long Beach, California. Both of them are survivors. Her husband passed away in October, 1922.

She made her home in Blair until her marriage in 1927 to James H. Jensen. They lived in Long Beach, California until his death in August, 1945.

She continued to make her home in California until 1961, when she returned to Blair to reside in the Crowell Memorial Home.

Mrs. Jensen was a member of the Methodist Church. She was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star. Her hobbies were hand painting china and crocheting.

Other survivors are her stepchildren, Mrs. Paul Jones, Mrs. B.F. Lundt, Elmer Jensen of Blair, Lillard Jensen of Omaha, Mrs. Edna Kruse of Anaheim, California, and Reginald Jensen of Seattle.

Funeral services will be Monday (today) April 1st at the Campbell Mortuary. The Rev. Gordon Patterson will officiate and burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.
