Betty L. Oloff, 81, of Logan, Iowa, died Jan. 25, at Longview Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 28, at Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan. Interment was in Valley View Cemetery near Persia, Iowa.

Betty Lea Meier was born Sept. 15, 1930, in Yorkshire, Iowa, to Edward H. and Nellie F. (Pitt) Meier. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith on Jan. 11, 1931, at the home of her aunt and uncle.

She graduated from Logan High School in 1947 and married Lyle Oloff on March 27, 1949, in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

She reaffirmed her faith when she was confirmed Oct. 18, 1953, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Logan.

Mrs. Oloff received her normal training and taught school for several years. She left teaching to help her husband on the farm and raise her five boys. She enjoyed going to their home in Minnesota and fishing, sewing, traveling and quilting.

She is survived by her husband, Lyle, of Logan; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne E. and Beth Oloff of Blair, James L.V. and Betty Oloff of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Keith E. and Bonnie Oloff of Logan, Lyle L.V. and Cheryl Oloff of Portsmouth, Iowa, and Terry L. and Ronda Oloff, also of Logan ; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Lyle and Pat Meier of Bella Vista, Ark., and Lowell and Delores Meier of Spencer, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Wayne Oloff; and brothers, Carroll and Arlon Meier.

Memorials are suggested to the Logan Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.
