NEWMAN JENSON

Newman A. Jenson, 79, Ontario, Oregon, died of cancer Saturday, October 11, 1986, in an Ontario hospital. Graveside services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 16, at Evergreen Cemetery, with Rev. Steve Brabb of the First Christian Church, Ontario, officiating. Vault interment was under direction of Ontario’s Lienkaemper Chapel.

He was born March 13, 1907, in Tekamah, the son of Andrew and Scena Helms Jenson. He was raised and educated in Tekamah.

He married Eleanor Austin on October 18, 1926 in Onawa, Iowa. They moved to the Ontario area in 1946, and moved to town in 1950 when he began working for Hohstad Repair Shop.

He began working for Ore-Ida in the maintenance department in 1957, from which he retired in 1972.

Mrs. Jenson died in October, 1967.

He married Mary Ellsworth on March 30, 1969 at Winnemucca, Nevada.

He was a former member of the Odd Fellows, and enjoyed working with his flowers and yard.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, Ontario; two sons, Lloyd Jenson, Unity, Oregon; and Richard Jenson, Payette, Oregon; a brother, Merle Dugan Jenson of Ontario; four sisters, Evelene Wrinkle, Ontario; Esther Wulff, Nyssa, Oregon; Erma May, Hooper, Nebraska; and Violet Lawson, Blair, Nebraska; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor, a daughter, Dona Marie, and a sister, Maytie Hallgren.
