Robert L. Jensen, 77, of Tumwater, Wash., died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, of Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Memorial services were held Nov. 27 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Olympia, Wash., with interment at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Wash.

Robert Lee Jensen was born March 19, 1924 in Blair to Ole and Naomi Jensen. He graduated from Blair High School in 1942. He married D. Elaine Nielsen on Jan. 21, 1947, in San Francisco, Calif. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1963, after 20 years of service, and from his second career with Los Angeles County in 1978. Upon retirement, they moved to Olympia, Wash., wintering the past 12 years in Palm Gardens, Mesa, Ariz.

Mr. Jensen was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Mesa, Ariz., Elks Lodge No. 2656, Mesa; Life Member of V.F.W. No. 318; Am Vets; Palm Gardens Golf; and bowling teams.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Judith Jensen of Salida, Colo.; daughters and sons-in-law, Kris and Greg Smith, Jamie and Bruce Schultz, and Julie and Bob Estergard, all of the Olympia, Wash., area; six grandchildren; sister, Mary Jensen of Blair and brother, Roy Jensen of Omaha.
