Della M. Ray, 101, died Thursday, Feb 2, 2012, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m.

Della Marie Nelson was born Aug. 15, 1910, in Washington County to N.C. and Esther (Barton) Nelson. She attended Pleasant View School.

She worked on a farm for the Bolin family for many years. Harry Bolin died, and she moved to Blair in 1964. She was employed by Crowell Home until retiring after 20 years of dedicated service.

She married Dan Moore of Blair shortly after she moved to town. He died in 1986. On Oct. 2, 1990, she married Arthur Ray, who preceded her in death in 1996.

Mrs. Ray's love of sewing, needlework, gardening, birds and collecting clocks was apparent throughout her home. Her longtime companion was her dog, Peppy.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Cheryl and Brad Stipp of Pompano Beach, Fla.; Dean and Carol Ray and Jolene and Kevin Jacobs of Omaha; Gordy and Pam Ray, Terry and Jean Ray, Patty and Dan Flynn and Steve and Sharon Ray, all of Blair; many great-nieces and great-nephews; stepchildren, Larry Moore, Neal Moore, Vivian Moore, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lloyd and Harold Nelson, and sister, Lela Ray.
