JOHN J. JESSEN, 74
Services for John Jessen, age 74 of Blair, who died at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair October 21, 1993, were Monday, October 26, at First Lutheran Church with military graveside services in the Blair Cemetery.
John J. Jessen was born September 1, 1919 at Blair, Nebraska, to Jens and Edith Wein Jessen. He attended elementary school in rural Blair and graduated from Blair High School.
In 1942, he entered the Army Air Corps, and served until 1945. He received numerous medals during the war, including the Asiatic Pacific Service medal, air medal and the Bronze Star.
On March 24, 1943, he married Audrey Reeh at Blair.
He farmed in the Blair area for 39 years, retiring in 1985, at which time he and his wife moved to Blair.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey; two sons and daughters-in-law, John Jr. and Mary Lou Jessen, Rock Springs, Wyoming and Marvin and Pat Jessen, Blair; eight grandchildren, Joel Jessen, Jim Jessen, Amy Jessen, Anne Jessen, Joshua Jessen, Joe Jessen, Brice Jessen and Kristi Jessen; one great-grandson, Jacob Jessen; three sisters, Ruth Thompson, Blair; Dorothy (Mrs. Wm.) Kuhl, Blair; and Gloria (Mrs. Leon) Kuhr, Denver, Colorado.
Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
