Services for Irene F. Echtenkamp, 84, of Fremont who died June 13, 1996, at Merrick Manor in Fremont were Monday, June 17, at the First Lutheran Church in Fremont. Rev. Mark Grorud and Rev. Benard Nelson officated. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery north of Arlington.

Irene F. Echtenkamp was born to Willis and Jennie Hack White January 14, 1912, in Fremont. Her family moved to St. Edward, Nebraska, in 1918. They returned to Fremont in 1925. She married Harry Echtenkamp August 26, 1934, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. They farmed north of Arlington. He preceded her in death in February of 1969.

She married Raymond Echtenkamp June 18, 1977. They made their home in Fremont. He preceded her in death January 21, 1983.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church.

She had lived at the Stanton Tower in Fremont until moving to Merrick Manor a short time before she died.

In addition to her husbands, Harry and Raymond, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Bonnie Stout of Fremont and Bernadine and Steve Marshall of St. Edward; a step-son and his wife, Bill and Kathy Echtenkamp of Kennard; four grandchildren, and their spouses, Stacy and Marc Baue and Rob and Mindy Marshall, all of Columbus; Tammy Stout of Westminster, California, and Shelley Musk of Fremont; three step-grandchildren, Angie, Terri and Lindy; a great-granddaughter and a sister, Ethel Hahn of Fremont.

Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church. Ludvigsen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
