Mrs. Walter Echtenkamp Passed Away In Seattle

Mrs. Josephine D. Echtenkamp passed away June 11, 1971, at her home in Seattle, Washington.

Josephine Dhooge Echtenkamp was born March 10, 1895, at Crete, Nebraska, and came to Arlington in 1914, where she was a linotype operator and later worked at the Fremont Tribune until in 1939, then she moved with her family to Seattle where she was with the Seattle Times.

She was a member of Aloha Eastern Star Chapter 202. Walter Echtenkamp and Josephine Dhooge were married in Arlington November 1, 1919, and they returned to celebrate their 50th anniversary in 1969. Survivors include her husband Walter and 1 daughter Jean (Mrs. P. C. Griffin) and 2 grandchildren of Seattle, one sister, Mrs. Wesley Myllenbeck, of Port Angeles, Washington, 1 brother, Thomas Dhooge of Seattle, a son, Walter, Jr., preceded her in death in 1962. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 15. Burial in Seattle with the Wiggins and Son Mortuary in charge.

The Echtenkamps recently visited friends and relatives in Arlington.
