SERVICES HELD FOR REV. JOHNS

Memorial services were held Friday, July 21, in Lafayette, Indiana, for the Rev. Arnold T. Johns, 69, who died July 20, 1983, in the emergency room of Home Hospital, after apparently suffering a heart attack in his home at 937 Southlea Drive. Burial was Monday in Oregon, Illinois.

Arnold T. Johns was born in Cuervo, New Mexico, and was reared in Blair, Nebraska. He came to Lafayette in 1977 from Fredericktown, Missouri.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He retired in 1981 after serving the Church of God, Faith of Abraham, in several cities. He was a member of the retired Ministers Association of Church of God and Oregon Bible College Alumni Association, Oregon, Illinois.

He married Marie E. Hansen in Oregon, Illinois, in 1956. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, David A. Johns, of Dixon, Illinois; and a daughter, Eileen L. Johnson, also of Dixon. Three brothers, Robert B. Johns, of Marysville, Washington; William Russell Johns of Bennington, Nebraska; and Byran L. Johns of Littlefork, Minnesota; and five sisters, Miss Gertrude Johns and Mrs. Orland (Mary) Barnes, both of Greenbrier, Arkansas; Mrs. Don (Isabel) Williams of Bodfish, California; Mrs. Lee (Doris) Rhoads of Sacramento, California; and Mrs. George (Janice) Haberer of Dixon, Illinois, also survive him.

A memorial has been established for the Church of God General Conference at Oregon, Illinois.
